Monel Steel - This material has been largely forgotten by string makers for decades. We are proud to announce the return of genuine Monel strings.
Until the early 1970s, monel steel or pure nickel was used as the wrapping material for electric guitar strings. Unfortunately, this trend has been lost in favor of cheaper strings such as nickel-plated steel. Then nickel-plated steel strings were also wound on hexagonal steel cores and mass-produced.
We manufacture Monel steel strings according to an old tradition and wind the Monel wire onto a round steel core. If you are looking for an alternative to pure nickel strings then Monel Classics is the one for you. Monel Classics close the large sonic gap between nickel-plated steel and pure nickel strings.
