Bass Preamp combines a pure bass preamp with studio-quality Direct Out, so you can customize your sound to suit any recording or live performance scenario.
MXR Bass Preamp provides a clear sound without taking up precious space on the pedalboard. Use it to add a new voice to an old passive bass guitar, sweeten an amp, or add a special sauce to a particular song. Set it up the way you want and send the signal where you need it (before or after the equalizer) with Direct Out output.
The preamp is equipped with separate input and output level controls and a 3-band equalizer with medium frequencies - from 250 Hz to 1 kHz - for great sound flexibility. The purity of the sound and the headroom is achieved through the use of Constant Headroom technology, you can use the PRE/POST EQ switch to set whether your output signal will be processed by the equalizer section. And, of course, the Bass Preamp is equipped with a GROUND LIFT switch in case you hear the hum of the ground loop.
The factory settings are set to work with buffered bypass and active Direct Out output. For musicians who only want to use the 1/4" output, there are two internal switches that disable Direct Out and switch the bypass to true bypass mode.
