The CT-S500 has a range of built-in effects, from compressor and phaser to distortion and wow-wow, to give your sound even more shape. Choose from 100 DSP effect types for each of the four available effect chains, and assign effect parameters to physical knobs for dynamic, real-time control of your sound. When it comes to system-wide effects, the CT-S500 offers reverb, chorus and delay. And because two independent effect chains can be applied to two separate timbres, you can easily switch between them. Even when overlapping two sounds or splitting the keyboard, you can still apply separate effect chains to each tone. When using the Auto Accompaniment function, you can apply different effects to the lead (melody) and accompaniment parts. Take your self-expression to the next level with an instrument that has sound at its core.

The CT-S500 pairs well with other equipment, offering a range of connection options. Line-out jacks make it easy to connect to a speaker system, amplifier, or other equipment for live performances, studio work, and the built-in speakers can be muted if needed. Connect other MIDI-compatible equipment and use the CT-S500 as a MIDI sound source or MIDI controller. You can even use the CT-S500 as a Bluetooth speaker with your smartphone or tablet.

The built-in speakers are designed around Casio's advanced Bass-Reflex horizontal phase-inverter system, which delivers powerful low-frequency sound despite the keyboard's compact size. Turn on the surround sound function and feel the power and vibrancy of music, while the volume-sync equalizer automatically adjusts tone according to volume for full sound even at low volume.

Don't limit yourself to the built-in timbres: the CT-S500 can also sample sounds from your smart device. When used as a tone timbre, the sample can be used to play melodies; when used in a drum kit, the samples can be used to replace individual drum sounds.
