Yamaha has updated the control panel and LCD display, eliminated the numeric keypad, and added direct category access buttons. Live Control knobs.

The PSR-E473 features left and right audio outputs that make it easy to connect to speakers and studio equipment - separate from the headphone jack.
Mega Boost.
Press the Mega Boost button to add +6 dB of volume!
This feature adds 6 dB to the volume knob's set volume. Increasing the volume of the instrument's speaker allows you to play with others or be heard even without a speaker system.

USB Audio Recording/Interface.

Octave Shift/Transpose.
Transpose is easy when you can raise or lower the pitch of a sound in half-step or octave increments simply by pressing buttons on the instrument panel.
Keyboard Splitting.
Divide the keyboard as you like and assign different timbres to each side, so you can play one timbre on the left and another on the right at the same time.
Arpeggio function.
Simply hold down the keys of the desired chords, and the keyboard automatically plays the corresponding arpeggios (arpeggiated chords). You can use the arpeggiator to add exciting musical elements to your performance. For example, play a major triad to have the arpeggiator play phrase-like combinations of these three notes.
