Schaller 16050501 Oyster 10/84Go - external pickup, plug-in, gold-plated
The Oyster 10/84Go is designed for external (visible) mounting on the body of an instrument, featuring a solid gold-plated body. Comes complete with a three meter interconnecting cable fitted with a Jack connector.
Patented "Oyster" pickups provide a natural and powerful reproduction of the instrument's sound without the use of active circuitry or preamplifiers. Superior sound is achieved through the perfect interaction of diaphragm, piezo element and contact gel. All Oyster models are mounted with double adhesive foil or on a removable adhesive pad that will not damage the surface of your instrument.
Model 16050501 is designed for external mounting.
For guitars with very good resonance, we recommend using thin adhesive pads. Silicone is ideal if high volume levels are to be achieved. Proceed as follows: cut off about 2cm of the binding mass, remove the protective film, and press the underside of the pickup with the adhesive onto the guitar. Done!!!
Recommended Installation: Since every guitar has its own resonance and construction, you should determine the best place to mount the pickup by trial and error on your particular instrument.
There are three commonly used positions for installation:
1. Under the strings, in front of the bridge (string holder), between the second and third string; 2.
Directly on the bridge, on the side of the first strings; 3.
Behind the bridge, on the side of the first strings.
Dismantling:
Carefully lift the transducer, do not pull on the cable. The transducer will come out easier if you remove it by gently turning it. It is better to remove any residual adhesive film with a little guitar polish.
