The Fat Cats kit offers the real breath of the P-90 rowland in any guitar equipped with a humbucker, without any modifications.
Do you want a clear midbite and a unique P-90 attack, but want a tool designed for humbuckers? You need a Phat Cat kit the size of a humbucker P90. The Phat Cat is a real P90 single coil soap rod, converted to a humbucker cover for use in guitars equipped with a humbucker. We originally developed this pickup at the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop for Hamer guitars, but eventually the demand became so great that we switched it to conventional production.

Phat Cats give you all the authentic stiffness and growl you'd expect from a gorgeous vintage P90 soap bar in the bridge position, while the authentic P90 bounces and sparkles in the vulture position. The chords have bright, ringing harmonic overtones, while the solos have a classic P90 sound. We use two Alnico 2 bar magnets to give you more sustain and compressed attack, while metal lids provide more protection and noise reduction than standard soapbar lids.

Other features include a nickel silver bottom plate, a single-wire braided connecting wire, and a vacuum wax fill for creak-free operation. The neck model is RW/RP, reverse winding polarity, from a bridge sensor to ensure silent operation when used together. Phat Cat humbucker P90 pickups are hand-made in Santa Barbara, California.
