Dual alnico 5 magnets and a short, wide coil give the P90 a unique sonic character with powerful mids and higher power output than most other single coil types.
In the neck position, this pickup sounds sweet and smooth, delivering fat chords. In the bridge position, this pickup has a sparkling midrange that gives it a grainy, open tone. The chords have a nice harmonic feel, and the single notes sound smooth and emphasized.
Both the neck and bridge pickups are replacements for any traditional Gibson size P90 pickup. The P90s are made on a Leesona winder that was used in the 1950s at the old Gibson factory. They come with a vintage braided solid cable and are wax coated for squeal-free operation.
