The first thing that catches your eye is the incredibly compact size of this microphone. However, don't let the size fool you! The TLM 102 features a large-diaphragm cardioid capsule, which has been specially designed for the new generation of versatile microphones.

Like all microphones in the TLM series, the TLM 102 is built on low-noise circuitry, and picks up sound without coloring it. It's particularly well suited for vocals, but its ability to handle high sound pressure makes the TLM 102 a truly versatile microphone.

The TLM 102 is designed as a versatile microphone for recording vocals and instruments. Finely tuned, it emphasizes the 8 to 12kHz frequency range crucial to the human voice. Recordings receive the silky elegance characteristic of large-diaphragm microphones; the voice acquires a noble presence in the overall mix. A natural, organic separation is clearly audible between it and, for example, an acoustic guitar.

High volume? No problem

The TLM 102 handles high volume and dynamic spikes without distortion. This makes it an excellent choice for backing up amplifiers and drum kits. This "baby" reproduces sound pressure levels of up to 144dB (e.g. a very loud trumpet at 10cm) with great clarity: open, detailed, powerful bass and refined treble.

Speaking of price

The TLM 102 is legendary sound at an unheard of price. Neumann have changed the way they manufacture and removed rarely used features. But when you hear the TLM 102, you'll immediately notice that we haven't missed the most important thing: the Neumann sound.

The TLM series microphones work with a transformerless output stage. This means clean and direct sound, very "close" to the acoustic source and powerful bass reproduction down to the lowest frequencies. It also makes the microphone resistant to electromagnetic fields and minimizes signal transmission losses.

The Studio Set comes with the EA 4 shock absorber. The EA 4 damper has a swivel mount with a 5/8"-27 female thread, plus a threaded adapter for mounting on 1/2" and 3/8" stands.
