Misha Mansoor has been using Tortex Flow 0.60mm picks for a long time and was looking for nothing else. But he came to the conclusion that his hard and fast playing style wore out thin picks too quickly. So he came to Dunlop looking for a thin pick that could handle aggressive playing while still giving the same tone, flexibility and playability as the Tortex Flow.
Geometry. With the form, everything was clear - Flow perfectly complements Misha's progressive technique of playing with a pick. First, the wide angle and sharp tip provide exceptional control and precision when things get fast and hard. Secondly, the edge allows him to use his hand as a volume control, squeezing out different dynamics by changing the orientation of his attack - slanted for boosting and accenting solos, and flat for smooth, consistent rhythms.
Durability and balancing warmth. Delrin was chosen as the material to provide top-level durability to withstand the most intense attacks. It feels similar to Tortex, but holds its shape even longer and wears more evenly. It sounds nice and warm, providing a great balance of articulation provided by the sharp end of the pick.
Stage pick and studio pick. The resulting Misha Mansoor Custom Flow pick perfectly captures the sound, feel and playability that Misha needs, but Dunlop decided to go even further. This pick comes in two sizes: 0.65mm and 0.73mm. Misha likes thin picks because they play crisp notes with just the right amount of compression to keep everything tight and in tune. How clearly and harmoniously you play depends on how hard you play, and how hard you play depends on when and where you play. The atmosphere on stage is different than in the studio, so Dunlop worked with Misha to develop the perfect thickness for every situation.
For live performances, the 0.65mm thickness is flexible enough to play hard and fast with the energy of the crowd, producing nice, crisp notes that don't get harsh. And this pick is blue so Misha can find it on stage! The 0.73mm thickness with a little extra stiffness added by the black dye ensures a more thoughtful and controlled performance when Misha is recording tracks.

"I am demanding and, one might even say, picky when it comes to mediators," says Misha. “I told the guys at Dunlop that I was only interested in this if we could develop the perfect fit for me. And here it is, after years of hard work!
