The Dean Markley Blue Steel Electric Guitar Strings are a set of six guitar strings that have been cryogenically shock frozen by liquid nitrogen. As strange as this may sound, it is in fact beneficial for the string. By freezing them down to -148°C it tightens the molecules and minimizes microscopic gaps.
Doing this removes transient frequencies that are known to produce harsh highs and muddy, unclear lows. This makes the string perform with more consistency, with a true tone and a much longer life. Blue Steel have been made from 8% nickel plated steel that's wrapped on a tinned mandolin wire hex-core.
