The XT Series is D'Addario's first strings to combine signature high-carbon steel alloy warp and unwrapped steel wire strings with a super-fine protective coating on all strings of the set. The strings offer extended life, increased strength, and tuning stability while retaining the feel and tone of your favorite non-coated strings.
All six strings of the XT series are coated with a super-thin layer of protective coating. The layer is not felt at all when playing and does not change the usual sound of the strings.

The high carbon steel base of the strings provides increased strength and stable action. Tests have shown that the XT series stays in tune 131% better than regular strings!
Tuning stability and playing speed are also improved, thanks to our Fusion Twist technology (original knot formula) that securely holds the mounting ball in the base of the string.
