Warwick BC is a series of compact amplifiers for bass instruments that are rarely found in this class. These full-range combos with extended dynamic range can work not only as bass amplifiers, but they are also specially tuned to work uniquely with bass guitar or double bass.

The BC Series preamplifiers use Warwick's proprietary Class A low impedance circuitry. Class A single-cycle circuits don't have the artifacts that occur at the "seam" of Class AB and B push-pull circuits. Low impedance means less heat dissipation, and therefore less electron thermal noise, which shows up in the high frequencies. Together, all this ensures you get a big, warm sound without distortion or annoying noise.

Compact combos often find themselves operating at rock bottom volume, and this can result in a power section overkill that's nothing like lush bass distortion. This is usually prevented by the built-in limiter, but it's a pretty rough instrument. It either "crushes" too much (i.e. ruins the dynamics and distorts the sound) or misses too much. Warwick use Dynamic Distortion Limiter technology, which analyses not the output level of the preamplifier, but what is going on directly in the power amplifier and turns on at the slightest sign of amplifier overload. This ensures lively dynamics with a distortion factor as low as 0.3% THD.
