Combining a large ceramic magnet with custom winding characteristics, the Nazgul offers the perfect combination of note articulation, richness and one of the most brutal chugging sounds you'll ever hear from a humbucker. It has incredible harmonic content across all frequency ranges and incredibly tight bass. Nazgul has a very aggressive high gain sound that is lively yet fully controllable. And at clean amp settings, it still knows how to behave and gives you those crisp, bell-like tones when you need them.
The Nazgul was originally developed specifically for 7- and 8-string guitars with the goal of creating the ideal modern metal pickup for low tuning instruments with extended range at high gain. Since then, Nazgul has risen from the depths and become a favorite among 6-, 7- and 8-string guitarists; catering to musicians whose styles range from hard rock to progressive metal and everything in between. Offered with a standard 6-string humbucker and trembucker, the Nazgûl is also available with a standard open-coil 7- and 8-string humbucker, or with a black metal humbucker finish in a classic passive mount that easily fits any guitar with traditional wiring. . We also offer Nazgul 7- and 8-strings in a standard active mount size with a black soapbox top and one row of exposed poles for a more modern look.
Handcrafted in the Santa Barbara, California factory, Nazgul's high output humbucking pickups use a large ceramic bar magnet, cupronickel bottom plate, 4-wire wire for multiple connection options, and vacuum wax seals for quiet operation.
