Octave MK-012 is a small-sized condenser microphone in a metal case with three interchangeable capsules of different directional patterns: cardioid, hypercardioid, circle.

The microphone provides high-quality sound transmission in the range from 20 Hz to 20000 Hz. Transformerless preamplification circuit provides low noise and high transmission efficiency at any distance from the sound source. A built-in 10 dB attenuator avoids phase distortion even at maximum sound pressure levels.

The microphone guarantees high quality recording in professional and home recording studios, as well as on stage or on set. The possibility of changing capsules of different directionality provides multi-purpose use of the microphone and expands the areas of application, opening new possibilities of recording.

Features

The microphone is versatile: it can be used as an instrumental microphone, speech microphone, for sounding instruments.

With small overall dimensions and weight of only 115 g, the microphone has a sensitivity of 12-16 mV/Pa at 1 kHz and low noise level.

The MK-012 is capable of recording loud sounds at a short distance: the maximum sound pressure level is 140 dB at 1000 Hz. Thus, it is suitable not only for recording guitar, piano, but also for recording percussion instruments or sounds of shooting, explosions in movie soundtracks.

Hypercardioid capsule has the narrowest sensitivity zone in the front and better perceives the sound coming from behind. It is insensitive to side sound sources. By putting this capsule on the microphone, you can record sound from sources close to the microphone without interference.

The second capsule, with a circular pattern, can be used when recording an orchestra or choir. A capsule with this pattern allows you to capture the whole sound picture.

The third capsule (cardioid directionality) is indispensable when recording a frontally located main sound source with the main source of noise on the rear side.

The MK-012 microphone is supplied in a cardboard box. The delivery set includes capsules of different directivity characteristics (three pcs.), attenuator "-10 dB" and preamplifier.
