The Five-Two single Strat pickup uses a combination of Alnico 2 and 5 rod magnets specially positioned for fast treble and dense bass frequencies.

The classic Five-Two pickup for Stratocaster was originally designed for Nashville studio musicians who wanted to soften the attack of high frequencies while retaining all the distinct sound of low strings. The solution was a mixture of Alnico 5 and Alnico 2 rod magnets, which combines the best of both worlds. The Alnico 5 rods under the low E, A and D strings keep their sound clean and crisp, while the Alnico 2 rods under the G, B and E strings provide a softened treble response.

The complete set, consisting of a bridge pickup, a non-standard and a medium one with reverse polarity and winding direction, produces a magnificent Strat timbre with silent operation.

The pickup bobbins are hand-crafted and varnished in the same way as it was done during the Golden Age of Fenders, and coated with wax to ensure smooth operation.
