Since the late 60s, when heavy metal appeared, guitarists have been looking for ways to create more voluminous and heavy riffs as the genre develops. The SLUG pickup was created as the roughest and most powerful passive humbucker that Seymour Duncan has ever produced.
Featuring a high DCR and a dual ceramic magnet, SLUG delivers a monstrous sound that is perfect for slow charging, heavy bass, riffage dominating stoner and doom metal. The SLUG is slightly longer than a standard humbucker, so it comes with a custom mounting ring matching the 2.87-inch coil length. When installed in a protective casing, modification may be required.
