Powerful, compact, double-amplified studio monitor with excellent impulse response and resolution.
Exceptional bass depth and transient response from 52 to 21 kHz.
Optimized for near-field use.
A new definition of precision.
The KH 120 has been the pioneer and benchmark of Neumann's compact near-field studio monitors since 2011. Enormous power reserve is combined with high fidelity sound transmission.
The result: maximum signal fidelity and well-defined transients across the entire neutral frequency response. This enables precise control of depth of tone, spatial imaging and even the smallest details in the mix.
The KH 120 is a two-way monitor with two Class AB amplifiers (80W each) with overheat protection. Just like the drivers, its MMD (Mathematically Modeled Dispersion) waveguide is designed with an optimum level of precision.
Precise horizontal dispersion provides flexibility in listening position; narrower vertical dispersion reduces the negative effects of nearby reflections, such as from a table or mixing console. Precisely adjustable dispersion characteristics optimize playback in a wide range of environments.
Best working environment: close to the professional's ears.
The KH 120 is typically used in near-field, project, music, broadcast and post-production studios for recording, mixing and mastering.
Phasoinverters and high dynamics: no more contradictions.
With its digital switching power supply and dual amplification, the KH 120 delivers sound pressure up to 111.1 dB while maintaining a high-resolution neutral image across the entire frequency response.
This provides enough energy to maximize dynamics without distortion or loss. The result is bass down to an impressive 52 Hz.
Despite the use of phase-inverters, there is no "aftertouch" in the bass response. Transient response remains under control.
The optimized driver design provides clean sound down to the lowest parts of the 50 Hz range. This rich foundation offers ample room for clean mix work without the need for an additional subwoofer.
The KH 120 was designed in accordance with Neumann's philosophy for studio monitors. Every component, every shape, every signal and every wave motion is a consequence of this philosophy. There is no shape or component without a cause, and they all mean exceptionally pure and neutral sound. These include, for example, body curves that reduce diffraction at the edges. Some of these features are obvious, others Neumann prefers to keep silent about. But when working together, you can hear every one of them - professionals in both large and small studios around the world can attest to that.
