A tribute to the 1950 original. The Vintage Broadcaster is the perfect choice for discerning audiophiles who demand something more from a Tele pickup. Broadcaster uses a special winding. Alnico 5 magnets with a slightly larger .197 diameter and higher power output deliver punchy highs and punchy mids. Try using it in front of a fuzz pedal for a British rock effect.
As with all vintage models, faithfulness to the smallest details is maintained. Craftsmen hand sand the magnets, then hand assemble the spools from traditional Forbon and dip them in varnish before winding. The varnish stabilizes Forbon for decades. Once wound, the pickup is wrapped with black cotton yarn and vintage-style waxed fabric wire is soldered to the coil lugs.
