A set of Alnico II humbuckers (APH-2), voiced specifically by Slash to give all his Les Pauls songs this urge to destroy.
When Slash was honored to create the Gibson Les Paul branded model, we sent the same Alnico 2 Pro humbuckers that he had been using for decades. It turned out that the new guitars sounded noticeably different than the original ones. So we accepted the challenge to make a new pickup for him that would make all his new signature guitars sound exactly like the original AFD Les Paul. The result was the Slash Signature humbucker model.

We used a different specification of magnetic wire and winding, which, combined with the alnico 2-rod magnet, provided exactly what was needed to give the standard Les Paul that familiar sustain, crunch and midrange that were so characteristic of the sound of the original copy of Derrig Les Paul from Slash. Slash humbuckers are handmade in Santa Barbara, just as we made its originals in the 80s, with a nickel-plated silver bottom plate with long mounting legs, single-wire braid, maple gasket, paper tape and wax filling.
